City
harbour Split is one of the most frequent harbours by realized numbers
of passenger and vehicle transfers on the Croatian coast of Adriatic
sea.
Split harbour is located in the middle part of Croatian coast and
attracts most of the inhabited southern Adriatic islands. Important
traffic corridors from Rijeka to Dubrovnik or Zagreb to Ancona and
Pescara all pass through Split.
Ferry harbour is a key part of traffic system of eastern city harbour,
where domestic and international traffic of passengers and goods
takes place during the whole year, but especially busy during the
summer months. In this time of the year there is a great flow of
tourists to the Dalmatian islands, which is accentuated by Split's
traffic and geographical location. All these circumstances sometimes
make access to the bus station and railway station somewhat difficult.
City harbour Split is situated in the city centre, where all aspects
of traffic system in movement or standstill are conflicted and integrated
(road, railway and sea).
